For the upcoming Club van Delft reportage, I already shot some additional footage. The lads from Filmhuis Lumen (an art house cinema in Delft) showed me how the film projector works, and they let me make loads of footage.
Because I got so much nice footage, and not everything will be used for the reportage, I thought it would be nice to make a small video. It shows quite well how everything works, and I guess that a lot of you always wanted to know how the film projector works. At least, I always wanted to know.
This week we will be filming the interviews, so the reportage will be online in a couple of weeks!
After quite some weeks we finally finished the reportage of Musicalgroup Rits.
Rits needed a theatre to practice and Ipse had a theatre which they offered. A beautiful match. Next to this, Rits was looking for some more volunteers who could help them with playing or behind the scene activities.
The initial purpose was to make a reportage about these two things.
Together with Inge and Pascha and a Sony Z1U we went to the Ipse building during their weekly rehearsal. We interviewed the head of Rits, the director of Rits’ new musical, and the location manager of Ipse. Next to this we made a lot of additional footage of the building and the ‘actors’.
I was appointed to direct the camera and edit the reportage. The final edit would be done by Inge. This was where the problem began. We wanted to show both the match and the request for new volunteers, but after some drafts of edits we figured out that it was just too much for five minutes, and it was too complicated. So we only showed the request.
Sometimes you have to make choices in editing, no matter how hard it is to leave some things out.
And of course this is the first reportage featuring the great bumper!
The next reportage in which I cooperate will be about an art house (Filmhuis Lumen), also requesting volunteers.
